DAY 1
DESCRIBE YOUR DAY
Woke up, check the clock on my phone, dismiss the prayer apps, scroll up any unread messages in my social media platform. Usually I will go with unread labels shown on the apps icon, having said, I will go through my whatsapp, telegram, SMS, facebook messenger, facebook notification, Instagram inbox and my gmail account. Not just my social media, I even check my TrueCaller app to check who reviewed my phone number (since I use the paid version). Then I open up my Play Store app to make sure all my app are uptodate eventhough I can just wait for it to be downloaded automatically via wifi.
With all those open apps, I will then perform a Device maintenance apps to clean up all my RAMs, cookies, and storage. Most of the time, since that I am always connected to the wifi, my phone will run a daily whatsapp data backup with almost 1.5Gb consumption overnight, so it is best to clean up the old one everyday to space up my small storage.
Staying in the house, the usage of my phone is quite low as im interacting more with the laptop with all my social media connected to the desktop. Unlike before the MCO, im using a lot of navigating software and eWallet apps. Anyway, I start the working day with checking my TimeTree calendar app to check for my staff availability etc.
Transferring cash using online banking to my wife is seamless, shopping of course, she loves to buy toys for our beloved daughter. Yup, Shoppee and Lazada thru Cashback apps. Not just in her phone, but also in my phone when her free coupon is fully used.

Went out running an errand, shopping list is already in my ColorNote app. It is easier for me to cross my item when I have done the task. And my favourite app all day long, the calculator apps, I think it is my habit of calculating everything using the apps despite of even just a simple calculation.

In the evening, after working time, its time to bring my wife and my daughter for a ride around the area, yeah nothing beat an evening ride. Sadly, stopping for a cup of Cendol is not allowed during the MCO. But yeah, I always snap our daily moment together using the camera app, and where do I save all our daily momento? Instagram app! I created an account without any follower, just for the purpose of having a digital and cloudbase diary.

“Ding!”, notification sound from my phone, saying that I got a payment deducted from my GooglePay, since it is connected to my Celcom (network carrier) line, so I just have to settle the payment through my Celcom App. How do I pay? With Maybank2U apps of course.

Tonight, is quite free, it seems that my wife is enjoying her Korean drama, and my daughter is already fall asleep, I open up my Udemy apps, continue my programming course. But yeah, I am having issue with staying for a long time watching just video in Udemy, so I always standby my Codeacademy Go app for me to practice and keep my streak in check.

DAY 2
DESCRIBE YOUR DAY
Like always, my routine, woke up, check the clock on my phone, dismiss the prayer apps, scroll up any unread messages in my social media platform which is my whatsapp, telegram, SMS, facebook messenger, facebook notification, Instagram inbox, gmail account and TrueCaller app. Update the Play Store app, perform a device maintenance apps for the phone refreshment to start the day.
Eventhough it is weekend and we are on the way to our grandma house (13km from our house, within the country), an urgent meeting can’t be avoided, even without my laptop, the meeting can still be conducted from my Zoom app. Notes taking? Of course, with Samsung S Note app, luckily, I got Stylus (phone’s pen) and with the Note 5 multi-task window, I can open two apps on the same screen (split screen) and make a note while having meeting. The advantage of having a large screen.
Running an errand today require extra cash since it is the weekend, so my shopping list is stored in CalcList app, an app that can list and sum up the budget on the go, it is handy as I can know exactly how much should I withdraw my cash from the ATM machine. Calculator app, always.
Evening, family bike riding time! Today we bought an icecream for our daughter, she love it so much, the expression made, nothing beat it. Not just images, I recorded it in video using the video app as well. Went back to house, look back to the videos, speed trim it using YouCut-Video Editor App, then move it into PowerDirector app for movie editing, and of course with background music downloaded from youtube music library (free version), I use the Cut Ringtone & Cut Music App to trim the music to match the length and mood of the video.
It is late and we are now tired to go out, having a rest with my family is a must, it is kind of a treatment to me, and a list of drinks cross my mind, smoothies. FoodPanda app to the rescue! Bought 7 smoothies, since that there are my brothers and sister in this house as well.

DAY 3

Routinely with all those startup apps. From checking the clock until cleaning up the phone using the Device Maintenance app.
Some of the picture taken sometimes need some extra touch up to make it lovely with the right colour scheme, it is what to expect from a 2014 technology. I edit it in my Snapseed app, and some of it are sent to Layout Apps to combine pictures, and some of it are sent to the 9Cut app to be cut proportionally for Instagram size. 3x1 is my best preference for the cutting size.
After browsing through the Instagram, some of the images posted really inspire me, I am using Regrann App to capture the images in full quality, including some of the videos. Some of the images is hilarious enough to be made as a whatsapp sticker, surely it is easy to convert it by using StickerMaker App. Produce a sticker using StickerMaker App then send it to the group, and they ask for a customized sticker for them as well, an easy task of course, with Autodesk Sketchbook App, just draw and edit anything I want, my way, almost the same like having an Adobe Photoshop on your palm.
Evening family bike riding time! But today it is raining, so we went out with car, turn on the car radio, got a good song but didn’t know the lyrics, not a problem, Shazam apps is always standing by to capture the song and displaying the details together with the lyrics for us to sing a long together. The radio got bored, no more interesting song, I open up my Spotify and connect it to my car, select an old 90s song album for us to enjoy.
It’s the end of the day, my friend tag me in the Facebook, about our promise last years of travelling together, 3 families, to oversea. We haven’t decided yet on which country do we want to go, just let it be a dream but yet, my finger is already scrolling the SkyScanner app, an app to search for the best time with a very low budget for traveling oversea, but nahh, its Covid season, we should postpone it to at least the next 3 years. And for no reason, it is such a habit of mine, the skyscanner app always partner up with the Mudah.my app, where I will freely scroll for a luxury used car, it is not that I am a fan of luxury used car anyway, but maybe more in having to know how cheaper it became day by day.
Now I should sleep, and think about my work this coming Monday, yeah this Monday will be a bit abnormal, since that I need to travel to Bertam, Penang for a project. I open up my Maps app and Waze app to briefly calculate how far is the place and what time should I plan to depart from my home.
Its midnight, time to sleep, set the alarm in the Clock App, enable Power Saving to the Max so that the battery doesn’t drain out in the morning and im set to go! …to sleep..

ABOUT DIARY WRITER
We are analyzing a Gen Y personality in Malaysia. Encik Solihin appears to be a practical, responsible Malay-Muslim family man of a stable character, where he is the main provider for his family. As a true Malaysian, he also has strong emotional attachments to food in Malaysia. During the weekend, he spends time with his grandmother and family, and run errands for the house.
He does not really hang out with his friends now (either due to work and family commitments or the lockdown), but keeps in touch via the apps in his phone and use it to plan and look for travelling and second-hand luxury car deals.

His Samsung phone does not fail him when he is running multiple operations that requires a high capacity simultaneously.
He often looks for inspiration through the apps, whether through music, digital arts, financial, or leisure, and his phone is like a companion to him. Additionally, he would also need the relevant mail-server integration that would support his job function.
Being a family man, he needs to keep track of his expenditures, so he uses multiple applications to follow up on the information seamlessly. As such, he has a need for a high functioning and durable phone at a reasonable price point to support his activities.
